About the Artist

Margo Cascella - Biography

Margo Cascella is a self-taught oil painter originally from New Jersey, now living in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Her work is deeply inspired by the shoreline, marshes, and boats of the North Shore and Cape Cod, reflecting a lifelong love for coastal landscapes and the quiet beauty of New England’s natural rhythms.
A member of the North Shore Arts Association on Cape Ann, Margo has spent nearly a decade capturing the essence of the places that shape her, from the rugged coastlines of Massachusetts to the sun-drenched fields of Provence. Though she came to painting later in life, it quickly became an essential part of her world, transforming how she sees and experiences her surroundings.
Influenced by renowned Canadian landscape artist Gordon Harrison, she embraces an impressionistic style using bold brushwork and luminous color. Her process is rooted in observation and exploration, often taking reference photos from multiple angles to capture the essence of a scene before translating it onto canvas.
Her subjects range from lake regions and coastal vistas to winter scenes and the rolling hills of southern France. Each canvas becomes a window into a moment; bold, ephemeral, and deeply felt.
